The Pulse: New Information in Chris Christie Scandal

In Friday's edition of "The Pulse," a new report on the Keystone pipeline; new information in the Chris Christie bridge scandal; and more.

A State Department report released Friday details the impact of a major U.S. oil project. The new report makes no definitive recommendation for approval or denial of the proposed Keystone pipeline. But it finds in parts that the project will not have a significant impact on natural resources or the rate of oil production. According to the new analysis, building the pipeline would add about $3.4 billion to the U.S. GDP. The next step in the process is a 90-day intra-agency review.

A former Port Authority official throwing New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's name into the fire again. David Wildstein, a Christie appointee, claims the governor was aware of the the September closing of the George Washington Bridge lane closings. His lawyer says there's evidence that exists to back up the allegations. This is contrary to what the governor said in a press conference earlier this month.

Another security breach hitting customers. This time, user names and passwords of some of Yahoo's email customers have been stolen. Yahoo did not announce how many accounts have been compromised. Yahoo is working with federal law enforcement and is resetting passwords on affected accounts.

Justin Bieber's name being tossed around in another controversy. This time, the troubled pop star's personal plane is being held at a New Jersey airport. Authorities said they detected what they described as a strong odor of marijuana when the plane arrived. It was held on the tarmac as a K-9 unit sniffed it out. You can see a black trash bag outside of the plane. It's not clear what was in it. It's unclear whether or not Bieber was actually on the plane.

He's the face and beloved leader of the Catholic Church. Now, "Rolling Stone" magazine has chosen Pope Francis to grace the cover of its February 13 issue. The magazine also includes an in-depth profile on the pontiff. Pope Francis took over back in March 2013.
