This is The Pulse, for Thursday June 5th!

NUMBER 5 - FATHERS GET THE COLD SHOULDER?
Father's Day is Sunday, June 15th, which means you have just under two weeks to find that perfect gift for your dad. But a new study shows that fewer of us buy presents for Father's Day than we do for Mother's Day. The "Father's Day Shoppers Trend Report" says 86-percent of us buy gifts for mom but only 77-percent of us buy for our dad. Also, 20-percent of people surveyed admit that they are more creative with gifts for their mom than their dad.

NUMBER 4 - D-DAY ANNIVERSARY FRIDAY
Preparations are underway across France to mark a major turning point in World War II. Friday is the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the allied invasion of Normandy that led to the liberation of France, and the fall of Nazi Germany. President Obama is expected to join the French president on Friday, for ceremonies honoring those who lost their lives that day.

NUMBER 3 - OBAMA STANDS BY BERGDAHL EXCHANGE
President Obama is standing by the prisoner exchange that led to the release of Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl. Obama has faced a slew of criticism since Bergdahl's release Saturday. Some soldiers say he was a deserter, not a hero. A closed door senate briefing was held for lawmakers on the prisoner swap of five Taliban leaders for Bergdahl. It was intended to give Obama's critics some answers, but many did not seem satisfied.

NUMBER 2 - MANHUNT FOR CANADA GUNMAN
A gunman who shot five police officers in Canada, killing three of them, is still on the run. The shots were fired in the province of New Brunswick, which borders Maine. Police tweeted a photo of an armed suspect, a man wearing fatigues and carrying two rifles, whom they identified as Justin Bourque, a resident of Moncton. As the manhunt continues, police are warning residents to stay in their homes, and lock their doors.

NUMBER 1 - SEATTLE COLLEGE CAMPUS SHOOTING
One person is dead and three others wounded after a shooting on the campus of Seattle Pacific University. Police say a student tackled the gunman as he reloaded his shotgun. According to Seattle police, a 20-year-old man was killed, a 20-year-old woman was in critical condition and a 24-year-old man was in satisfactory condition.  A fourth person was hospitalized for emotional trauma.  Investigators say a suspect is in custody. His identity has not been released.
