Nasa is asking for your help in categorizing hundreds of thousands of night photos of Earth, mostly taken from the International Space Station. It's asking people to identify which cities and towns the clusters of lights are coming from. The main goal is to create an open atlas of nighttime photos of Earth. Hundreds of volunteers have already classified nearly 20,000 images. To help out, head here.
#4: Seaworlds Plans for its Killer Whales
The company announced that it plans to build a new state-of-the art home for them.
The San Diego park will be the first to see changes. The new killer whale environment there is expected hold 10 million gallons of water, nearly double what the current facility holds. Seaworld says it plans to open the home in 2018. It also announced plans to donate 10 million dollars to killer whale research.
#3: Rick Perry Indictment
Texas Governor Rick Perry has been indicted by a Texas grand jury. The potential 2016 presidential candidate is accused of abusing his power, reportedly trying to force a district attorney to step down over her DUI arrest and threating to veto funding for a public integrity unit run by the DA. If found guilty, Perry could be sentenced to a maximum 109 years in prison.
Officials from Perry's office say they plan to aggressively defend the governor.
#2: Train Crash in Hoxie
You're looking at the scene of a major train crash in Northeast Arkansas. It happened early Sunday morning in Hoxie when two freight trains collided. Two people were killed and two others were hurt in the wreck. Officials say they believe they were all crew members on the trains. Police say some of the train cars were carrying hazardous materials. Nearly 300 people in the area had to be evacuated.
#1: Obama Meets With Holder
President Obama is set to meet with attorney general eric holder today to discuss the situation in Ferguson, Missouri. A new autopsy for Michael Brown, arranged by his family, says he was shot 6 times, twice in the head. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has signed an executive order directing additional resources through the Missouri National Guard, to help restore peace and order and to protect the citizens of Ferguson.
