FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- University of Arkansas Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that happened early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, a female student was walking in the area of Lindell Avenue and Douglas Street around 4:30 a.m. when an unidentified man confronted her. Police say the man pulled the girl by her arm, trying to lead her away from the sidewalk area.

The two began to struggle and the female was able to break free from his hold and escape. Police are considering this case a criminal attempt to commit kidnapping.

Investigators are looking for a white male, approximately 5'10" tall, medium build with short dark colored hair, and about 21 years old. He was last seen wearing a dark colored collared shirt with possibly tan pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact UAPD at (479) 575-2222.
