SPRINGDALE -- Some Northwest Arkansas citizens hit the trail this week in conjunction with the Rodeo of the Ozarks. The event known as John Shaddox Wagon Train starts in Harrison and ends in Springdale.
Riding everything from buggies to horses, the 100-mile trek began in late June and concluded with the rodeo parade earlier Wednesday.
"We start two days before the ride. The ride started the 27th. We take two days to go over there, and then it's nine days back to our house just past Centerton," said Benton County resident Rob Stephens.
For Stephens, who has made the trip for 18 years, the wagon train is a great way to get back to your roots and spend quality time with family, camping out and talking with old and new friends along the way.
