FAYETTEVILLE -- The city is celebrating Earth Week with some recycling activities

Monday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. the Recycling and Trash Collection Division will place new recycling containers for bottles and cans on the downtown Fayetteville square.

On Tuesday, you can take an Earth Day tour of the Recycling and Trash Collection Facility. The tour starts at 10:00 a.m. at 1560 S. Happy Hollow Road. You can learn how materials are collected for trash disposal and recycling programs, plus how materials are composted through the city's composting program.

Also, new apartment recycling bins will be placed around the city starting on Thursday. The Recycling and Trash Collection Division will begin distribution of indoor bins at North Creekside Apartments. More recycling bins will be placed at apartment complexes in the city during the next few months.
