SPRINGDALE, AR - A high speed chase backed up traffic on I-49 Wednesday. Police had been looking for Jason Komsonekeo for violation of a protection order. They tried to pull him over, but he refused to stop.

"He went northbound on I-49 and ended up getting up to speeds an excess of 80 miles an hour, and the car was going into to a construction zone near Wagon Wheel," explains Lt. Derek Hudson with Springdale Police.

Police had to call the pursuit off after it entered a construction zone. Later State Troopers spotted Komsonekeo, and he gave chase once more.

"We did block intersections, make sure the other motorists weren't in danger. We did attempt to deploy spike strips at one point on Wagon Wheel, but weren't successful," Lt. Hudson says.

Police say Komsonekeo eventually pulled over at Thompson & Porter and was quickly arrested. He now faces several charges, including felony fleeing.
