APPLE TV...FOR REAL
Apple could be eying a partnership with cable provider Comcast in its bid to reinvent television. The Wall Street Journal says Apple and Comcast are holding talks. It could result in Comcast delivering an Apple-branded TV service the same way it delivers phone calls and Video-On-Demand. However, the Journal reports the two companies are not close to a deal.
PROBLEM FOR PARKER FARMS
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is asking consumers to avoid eating certain products from Parkers Farm after investigators found some of their items were contaminated with listeria. So far no illnesses have been reported but the department issued an alert to avoid 15 products ranging from spreads, salsa dips and peanut butter. The products are sold in major chain stores including Costco and Target.
MCDONALD'S UPPING IT'S GAME
McDonald's is adding something new to its menu. The fast-food giant is testing petite pastries in select cities, including San Diego. They're available with raspberry or cinnamon cream cheese filling. McDonald's is marketing the pastries as a perfect companion to its McCafe Coffee. The company is working to evolve amid increased competition, such as the new breakfast menu at Taco Bell.
ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER LOSS...
The Dow Jones fell 26 points Monday. The Nasdaq fared even worse, losing more than 50 points for the day, and the S&P 500 dipped 9 points.
