CENTERTON, AR. ---- The road leading into Centerton is about to see more traffic.

This week, a groundbreaking for Mercy Northwest Arkansas. Mayor Bill Edwards said this is only one of many new businesses coming to the area.

"This will see double the patients, this one they have right now usually see 40 to 50 patients a day. This one will increase it to 80% to 100% and that just helps add to the health care needs of our community as we grow," said Edwards.

Edwards says this means more economic growth for Centerton as well.

"That's the thing I'm really excited about! Jobs. The neighborhood market is going to bring 100 jobs, the nursing home will bring 130. The high school will bring 250 jobs. The assisted living will bring about 100 folks and the liquor store will bring some and the clinic will bring some additional staff also," said Edwards.

Edwards attributes a lot of the continued growth to the second Bentonville high school set to open in the future.

"We need the commercial business here, we have plenty of homes, but with the new high school coming, we expect to see even more because we will need more restaurants and different things to help accommodate the students and the parents coming out here," said Edwards.

Mayor Edwards hopes the expansion within his town will continue to exceed expectations.
