Airlines took in nearly three-and-a-half billion dollars from luggage fees last year, down four% from the year before. It's the steepest drop since airlines started charging for checked bags. Some passengers skip the charges through credit cards or reward programs, while others carry luggage on board. So airlines increased fees for reservation or ticket changes - and things like priority seating and seats with more legroom.

Panera's replacing cashiers with kiosks. The chain is adding about eight order kiosks per restaurant, according to Bloomberg Businessweek, which also reports giving the customer control over the order should improve accuracy. Cashiers won't lose their jobs.. they'll become servers, bringing food to customers instead of having them get it themselves.
