BENTONVILLE, AR-- A downtown upgrade is currently underway, with the groundbreaking of what's known as "Thrive: Bentonville." The 44,000 square foot bulding is part of an 18-acre expansion planned for southeast downtown. The plan includes two areas dubbed the Arts District and the Market District. Both will be connected by two main thoroughfares; southwest "A" Street and Main Street. Friday's groundbreaking paves the way for new housing and commercial space. This project is 62 multi-family or residencies that will be complimented by two commercial spaces," says Rob Coleman with ERC Companies. "This is a brand new concept for us. This urban environment is very ripe so we felt like, where else better than Bentonville to start?" Once complete, "Thrive" will include 62 residential units and more than 1,700 square feet of floor space for potential start-up businesses. The project will last about 10 months and be open by the first of next year.
