Ex-City Official admits to Drug Abuse on the Job.

- ROGERS--With Fridays release of information, a separate case was brought to light involving the city of Rogers' IT Department. In 2012, The director of that

department, Rufus Ramey, was accused of using one of his employees to illegally obtain prescription medications. Police reports from 2012 show city

of Rogers IT department employee Tim Harrison admitted to supplying his boss, Rufus Ramey, with narcotic pain killers. According to the documents,

Harrison told multiple people Ramey had him pick up the drugs from various people, and trade a computer for the pills. Harrison stated he saw Ramey

"Take approximately 90 pills within a five day period" and Ramey "Comes to work "high". Harrison told investigators Ramey once loaned a female fire

department employee money on the condition that they use cocaine together and have sex. When detectives interviewed Ramey, he admitted to

taking pills from Harrison - but claimed it was Harrison's idea. Ramey denied all other accusations. Prosecutors decided not to file charges. Rogers'

Mayor Greg Hines explained at Friday's press conference. "Mr. Ramey's attorney and the Benton County prosecutor reached an agreement that Mr.

Ramey would resign his position with the City of Rogers in lieu of criminal charges." Hines said. While addressing the two year old case, Hines says

things have now changed at City Hall. "Those folks were here before I got here and they're not here now. The commitment that I can make is that

I will continue to always hold this organization to high level of professionalism and ethics." He said.
