FAYETTEVILLE, AR-- Less than two months after a University of Arkansas transit bus hit a 7-year old boy back in February, the parents of Michael Lewallen are launching their own investigation. According to the police reports, the boy ran out into the road and the bus driver was speeding, going 35 in a 25 mile per our zone. But the report goes on to indicate speed as a minor contributing factor in the accident. The driver was not ticketed. Now, the Lewallen family is hiring a local law firm. According to a release from the Odom Law Firm in Fayetteville this week, the family is quote "concerned about the speed at which university of Arkansas transit buses travel in residential neighborhoods and the safety of other children who live and play along bus routes." Accordingly, the investigation will focus in part on these issues."
