ROGERS, AR -- Saturday was the opening of the new Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion.

Blake Shelton was the concert's headlining performer. Country artist Hunter Hayes opened the concert.

Fans lined up early Saturday, waiting for the gates to open. They were excited to be a part of the first concert at the AMP's new location.

"It's really exciting to be at the first concert because it's a momentous situation to where I can say I was there," Amanda Peeler of Bentonville said.

Officials with the Walmart AMP are happy to bring back live outdoor music to the folks of Northwest Arkansas.

"The Walton Family did a survey recently and the number one, most requested amenity in Northwest Arkansas is an outdoor amphitheater."

Shelton was the first of several artists coming to the Walmart AMP this summer, including Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker and Shelton's wife, Miranda Lambert.
