FAYETTEVILLE, AR-- Fayetteville Public Schools is hoping to fill 88 positions before the new school year begins.

This number is about twice the average due to the school board adopting a new early retirement program.

54 employees took the school up on the offer, which promises $50,000 to the early retirees over the next five years.

The deal is expected to save the district more than five million dollars over the next 8 years.
