Springdale, AR - A grassroots campaign to celebrate the city of Springdale is springing up on social media.

Jonathan and Amber Perrodin spent Wednesday repainting an old mural at their daughter's school, but the downtown Springdale residents and business owners aren't just fixing up Robert E. Lee Elementary.

The couple is trying to repaint the image of the city they love.

"Springdale is a unique and special place like any other town in Northwest Arkansas," Jonathan Perrodin says. "But for some reason, everybody likes to give Springdale a hard time, so we just started this Instagram account just to kind of highlight the beautiful interesting things that you can't find anywhere but in Springdale."

Team Springdale, on Facebook and Instagram, is looking for shots that show off the unique amenities in the fourth largest city in the state.

"I think that people have just been waiting for something like this to happen," he says. "We're not doing anything magical, but just trying to create a platform for other people's perspective of what Springdale is."

You can check out the photos for yourself on either Facebook, or on Instagram.
