BENTON COUNTY, AR-- A local man faces serious charges after a high-speed chase and an officer assault. Police say it all started Saturday when a Lowell officer tried to pull over Robbie Kirk after seeing him swerving on Highway 71. Kirk briefly stopped at a gas station in Rogers and then took off at speeds of up to 60 miles an hour. After crashing through two yards, police say Kirk's passenger jumped out and laid on the ground, while Kirk kept going. Officers found Kirk and his car a short time later but had to wrestle him to the ground to cuff him. An officer broke his wrist in the scuffle.
