FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- The real estate market is looking up in Arkansas.

Numbers released Wednesday by the Arkansas Realtors Association show the number of homes sold in April increased 8.2 percent. Home prices dropped 5.2 percent.
Pulaski, Benton and Washington Counties had the most homes sold.

A local realtor claimed Northwest Arkansas was an attractive site for many prospective homeowners for a variety of reasons.

"The jobs and the availability of new positions opening up and the university are big drivers in the area," realtor John Hagberg said.
