SPRINGDALE, AR -- Mayor Doug Sprouse weighs in on the current influx of children and adults arriving at the U.S. border;

"Obviously, there are important decisions that should have already been made by our Federal Government concerning the securing of our nation's borders and then the long-term issue of immigration reform. All sides must finally come together and address these issues for the future of our nation.  More urgently however, as a Christian, I encourage all of us to work together to compassionately support  efforts to care for the tens of thousands of children who are now within our borders through no fault of their own. I applaud and support the many churches and faith based organizations who are truly doing the work of the church in caring for these children, along with all Americans who are working to meet their needs.  I am confident the people and churches of NWA will continue to be heavily involved in these efforts."
