ROGERS -- For the 12th year, folks gathered to help raise money for diabetes research at the 'Kiss A Pig' gala.

The event was held Saturday at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers.

Along with a silent and live auction, the top fundraisers got to pucker up and kiss a pig.

Saul Cordero with the American Diabetes Association told us more about the cause behind the event.

"We're really trying to promote research for diabetes, we're also trying to help prevention and also we're trying to create advocacy," Cordero says.

"We're helping the community here in Northwest Arkansas and in the state of Arkansas fight the battle against diabetes."

KNWA's Neile Jones served as an emcee at the event.
