KNWA & Your Family: Chemical Linked to Preterm Birth

New research shows the risk of preterm birth may increase for pregnant women exposed to high levels of chemicals used in common household products.
Researchers used urine samples to calculate the phthalate exposure of nearly 500 women throughout their pregnancy.
Those with the highest concentrations ... had higher odds of giving birth prematurely.
Phthalates have already been shown to disrupt hormone levels, and are linked to thyroid disease, endometriosis and breast cancer.
