KNWA -- On June, 1944, President Roosevelt delivered an address to the nation. Listen to this edition from the "DuPont Show of the Week," 1962.

Seventy years ago, more than 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of the beaches of Normandy to fight Nazi Germany. By the end of the day, more than 9,000 Allied soldiers had been killed or wounded but the event marked the beginning of te hard fought journey across Europe to defeat Adolf Hitler’s Nazi troops.
