ROGERS -- The Rogers Public Library hosted the area's first mini maker fair this afternoon in Rogers.

The event brought hundreds to the library to see the projects these inventors have been working on. Nearly 20 vendors came out showing off many items. The vendors are part of "Take 3 NWA", a group aimed at bringing together inventors from across the area. The makers here are passionate about the projects they are working on.

"One of the biggest things that happens at maker fairs is everybody works with everybody else," said maker and Take 3 NWA member Jason Quail. "Being part of the maker community and with all these people, I can do anything I want. Basically, it's like living in the future."

The fair may be the first in the area, but it's become a national phenomenon in recent years. Before today, Kansas City had the closest fair to our area.
