Bethel Heights, AR - The NWA Food Bank got a major donation Tuesday, thanks to a $15,000 dollar grant.
The money came from the ALCOA Foundation to help feed the hungry in our area.
While the national average for food insecure families is 1 in 6, here in Northwest Arkansas the number sits at 1 in 4.
Food bank organizers say the donation will mean an additional 75,000 meals can be purchased.
They add for every $1 dollar donated, they can provide 5 meals to those in need.
