#NWAChampionship: American Cancer Society & Pantene Beautiful Lengths Help Deliver Hope Cancer Patients

Rogers, AR - It starts with a special snip at hair cutting events like the Pantene Beautiful Lengths, but by the end, these new do's mean more than just a make over.

Jen Boyle with the American Cancer Society, "Ponytails taken from those cutting events are made into wigs that we are able to distribute to our neighbors here in Northwest Arkansas."

Rows of wigs made with real hair line the office of the American Cancer Society of Northwest Arkansas affectionately called the Wig Room.

Thanks to a national partnership between Procter & Gamble and Pantene, the organization offers them to any female undergoing treatment for cancer in the area free of cost.

Boyle said, "There are so many stresses with being diagnosed with cancer, just to have that one stress relief, really can make a difference."

On average, the shop gives out about 200 wigs each and every year.

And with the continued support from the Northwest Arkansas community, it'll continue to make difference in the lives of those battling cancer.

"A majority of the time they leave with a little more hope and sparkle in their eyes and it's nice to know that we were able to help in some way," explains Boyle.
