FAYETTEVILLE -- Two people were treated for injuries after a Razorback Transit bus ran a red light and hit their vehicle earlier this week, according to a Fayetteville Police Department.

It happened Tuesday afternoon. The transit bus driver,  Kari McCawley, was cited for careless driving after, according to officers, she hit a car as she was passing through the intersection of Leverett and Sycamore.  Officers on the scene said McCawley had a red light.  Two people in the car were taken to the hospital to be seen for neck and side pain.

McCawley was put on administrative leave as of Wednesday while Razorback Transit investigates the crash, according to Mark Rushing with University of Arkansas.  He says no one riding the bus was injured though McCawley did report a minor neck injury.  Rushing says this is the first injury accident where a transit bus driver was ticketed in more than 10 years.
