The state's health care plan was hanging in the balance this week at the state capitol. The House missed the needed three-quarters majority for passage by five votes.
The House will vote on the Private Option again on Wednesday. If it passes it will move on to the Senate where it will also need three-quarters of the vote to pass.
According to the Department of Health, 96,950 people gained health care coverage through the Private Option as of Feb. 6. Of those enrolled so far, 87,061 were covered by a private health insurance plan and 9,889 had been determined to be better served by the traditional Medicaid program because of exceptional health care needs.
