Ross is a native of Prescott who now resides in Little Rock. He is a former U.S. Congressman (2000-2012) who served the state's 4th District. He is also a former small business owner and state senator.

Libertarian Frank Gilbert of Tull and Green Party candidate J. Joshua Drake will also be on the November ballot in the race.
