WASHINGTON COUNTY, AR-- The Washington County Election Commission wants to triple the number of early voting sites the county opened since 2012.

The commission plans to ask the quorum court for the money needed to open six early polling places in November's election.

The panel's commissioners agreed to five locations this week.

They include one near Prairie Grove City Hall, the Rodeo Community Center, Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, the county courthouse and Medical Arts Pharmacy in Fayetteville.

The commission will meet Friday To decide on the sixth location.

Altogether, the commission is asking for about $31,000 to pay for the increase.

Early voting begins October 20th.
