KNWA/FOX 24 -- The state is set to review snow day waivers from more than 70 school districts this week.

The state board of education meets Thursday and Friday. Some districts have missed nearly 20 days due to snow and ice. The board will decide how many of those days the districts need to make up.

Around Northwest Arkansas, four of our five largest districts have submitted requests for waivers.  Bentonville asked for 3 make up days to be removed, Fayetteville, Rogers and Siloam Springs each asked for two.  Springdale School District tells us they did not need to request any waivers thanks, in part, to a school calendar that included 5 built in make up days.
