With spring in the air, Devil's Den State Park is ready for an influx in visitors.
"We offer programing most days of the year that involves natural talks, live animal demonstrations or more recreation style events, such as hikes and mountain bike rides so there's always something for everybody." Adam Leslie, Devil's Den Park Interpreter said.
The park is about 25 miles southwest of Fayetteville. Saturday the park is hosting "Birder Weekend."
"We'll have several hikes leading out pretty early in the morning when the birds are out but we'll also have a licensed wildlife rehabilitator here with several live birds that she'll be showing off for the public," Leslie said.
Many of the amenities at the park are free and new projects are in the plans.
"We'll do some renovations this next year which will include some camper cabins which will be in between a campsite and a cabin," Fuller said.
With 50 miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding, it's no surprise the park sees more than half a million visitors each year.
So if you need to get away without going far, Devil's Den is just a short drive away.
