BENTONVILLE, AR -- A Northwest Arkansas man is cycling across the country for a cause.
Bobby Rickard is biking 500 miles to spread awareness about Azlheimer's disease. Rickard and his family were caregivers for Rickard's father, before he passed away in 2011.
Rickard started his journey Thursday morning and plans to travel through five other states in 4 days.
"Somebody may get some information along the route that we're riding and it will help them be more prepared for a situation that they may find themselves in, if they find themselves being a caregiver for somebody that may have Alzheimer's," says Rickard.
Saturday, June 21, is recognized as "The Longest Day" by the Alzheimer's Association and Rickard plans to make it his, and ride at least 16 hours
