Three-Car Crash Kills One in Fayetteville

UPDATE: Fayetteville Police have released the name of a man killed in an accident on N. Crossover Road Thursday morning.

Steve Chandler, 45 of Fayetteville, was driving south on Crossover Road when his Chevy Colorado drifted into the other southbound lane, according to police. His Colorado collided with a Honda Civic being driven by Jianwen Ren, 40, of Springdale. Chandler then lost control of his car, sending him into oncoming traffic in the northbound lanes. He collided with a Dodge Ram pickup driven by William Burris, 48, of Fayetteville. Chandler was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center where he later died from injuries.

Police said Chandler was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

FAYETTEVILLE -- One person was killed in an east Fayetteville accident Thursday morning.

According to police the crash happened at 9:55a.m. when a Chevy Colorado lost control after sideswiping a Honda Civic while driving south on Crossover Rd near Kantz. The preliminary accident report said the Colorado then entered the northbound lanes of traffic where it collided with a Dogde pick up truck.

One person died as a result of the crash.  Police are not releasing any further details until the families of those involved have been notified.
