ROGERS - After last month's accident, tractor trailer safety is now an even higher priority, especially for the drivers at this year's Arkansas Trucking Championship in Rogers.

The competition brings the best truck drivers from around the state to Northwest Arkansas. All of the drivers competing are required to go one year without any accidents. That's a million miles for most of these drivers.

"Most drivers, when we're out there on the highways, want to do it safely. With this competition here this weekend, it really enforces the safety factor," said truck driver Loren Hatfield, who traveled from Maumelle to attend the competition.

The winners of the tournament will go on to compete in the national truck driving championship in Pittsburgh, PA in August.
