(KNWA via NBC) -- An auto industry trade group is offering free car window decals to help remind people not to leave children alone in cars. It's part of an on-going effort to help remind parents to think twice before walking away from their cars.

The Washington D.C. based alliance of automobile manufacturers is distributing this decal through public health agencies, schools, and daycare centers in the area. They recommend placing the decal on a rear window on the driver's side of a car.

The decal reads "Never leave a child alone in a car. If you see a child unattended in a car don't hesitate to call 911."
The decals are available free of charge here.
