Water therapy is a great form of exercise and recreation. A lot of exercises out in the gym can place excess stress on your joints, and if you have arthritis or fibromyalgia, different things like that, it can be much more stressful, actually induce more pain and do more harm than good.
But warm therapy pools like ours can to help increase blood flow to an area while you're exercising, but not increase undue stress on it. Just getting in a great workout for seniors who might have some mobility disabilities and they can't really use a treadmill, so they can get in the pool instead.
We have people who come in here, their doctors told them, "Okay, I want you to exercise, but I want you to be in the pool." The buoyancy of the water helps to alleviate a lot of your own bodyweight, which can be much more stressful on your joints. Since you don't have to carry so much of your body weight, it's a lot easier to move through the water, but you can still get a really good aerobic workout.
