Local Students Use Virtual Reality to Learn

BENTONVILLE, Ark.-- - Ruth Barker Middle School got a special treat on Valentine's Day.

The students were able to test out the latest in augmented reality and virtual reality for education when the Z-Space Mobile Classroom stopped at the campus on Tuesday. The pre-teens got to dissect organs and dive into volcanoes with the program. Administrators said the students enjoy the learning experience.

"It's neat to see the students when they come in there in and they put the glasses on  and you just start hearing the oo-ing and ahh-ing from the students as soon as they see what's available there and they can manipulate that and it's not just what they see but also what they're feeling through the pen that manipulates the screen" said Principal Eric Hipp.

Students told us that they appreciate the opportunity since cool events don't happen all the time.
