Podcast: Fixing House, Senate District Lines in Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) -- Whoever wins governor, secretary of state and attorney general next year will be responsible for redrawing House and Senate districts all across Arkansas.

Every member of the Arkansas House of Representatives and Senate have districts full of thousands of people they represent. Lines for those districts are drawn after every census.

Depending on who is in charge of drawing those lines, they can be made to disadvantage certain voters through a process called gerrymandering. Rep. Greg Leding, D-Fayetteville, and Sen. Bryan King, R-Green Forest, talk about what they expect will happen in Arkansas after the next census.
