Rep. Mathew Pitsch to Run for State Senator

FORT SMITH, Ark.- - State Representative and Majority Leader Mathew Pitsch announced he will seek election for the District 8 seat in the Arkansas Senate. 

Rep. Pitsch was elected as a representative in 2015 and named majority leader in 2016 during the fiscal session. Pitsch coins himself as a conservative and small business advocate, and was the sponsor of the Tax Reform and Relief Act of 2017.

"I'm proud of the work we've been able to accomplish in the House of Representatives and helping the Governor strengthen the state during my time in the House," said Pitsch. "We've been able to speak for Fort Smith and have worked to make it and our regional partners relevant in Arkansas. I'm excited to move to the Senate and continue representing our community."

Pitsch indicated his focus will be on Fort Smith and the region, including promoting economic development.
