Road Rage Shooting Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Gary Holmes, the suspect in a deadly road rage accident in Little Rock pleaded not guilty in the death of three-year-old Acen King.

Holmes appeared in court on Thursday, and pleaded not guilty by reason of a mental defect. The judge ordered a mental evaluation for Holmes. Acen King's family had nothing to say after Holmes entered the plea.

"He's not guilty. Obviously he feels for the family. He's just not responsible for it," said Holmes' attorney, Ronald Davis Jr.

While the judge ordered a mental evaluation, he did not set a bond, meaning that at least for now, Holmes will remain behind bars. Holmes' attorney says he will be requesting a bond hearing for his client at a later time.
