Rutledge Wins Republican Runoff for Attorney General

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Independence County native Leslie Rutledge has defeated her Republican opponent for Attorney General in the Arkansas Primary runoff.
Rutledge won 57 percent of the vote to David Sterling's 43 percent.
This race has been hotly contested. Rutledge accused her opponent of representing the porn industry because of legal work he did on behalf of a lingerie store in Little Rock.
Outside money, also poured into the race. A recent six-figure advertisement purchase by a group called Judicial Crisis Network, accused Rutledge of siding with Washington democrats when it comes to "stand your ground" laws.
Rutledge will now join Nate Steel (D) and Aaron Scott Cash (L) on the November ballot.
