Special Election Set for Former Sen. Files' Seat after FBI Investigation

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) -- A special election has been set for former Sen. Jake Files' seat after he pleaded guilty to wire fraud, officials say. 

Files announced his resignation in January after an FBI investigation. 

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced a special election for his vacated seat on Tuesday. The primary will be held on May 22, and the general election is set for August 14.
