FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The Dixie Cafe restaurant chain will be closing on Thursday.
The chain has locations in Russellville, Harrison and across The Natural State. It also has restaurants in Oklahoma and Tennessee. The Dixie Cafe in Rogers closed in June of 2017.
An employee at the Harrison restaurant said they were just informed of the coming closures on Monday morning.
The restaurant's website has already been taken down.
CEO Allan Roberts released the following statement on the closures:
"After over 35 years in business, we have decided that we must close our restaurants. It's a very difficult operating environment for full-service, family-oriented restaurants. We have seen declining sales combined with increasing costs that has made this difficult decision necessary. We want to thank all our loyal patrons who have supported us over the years. We also want to thank all our long-term management and staff who have been so dedicated to our company and its mission to serve our guests. We are privileged to have been a party of so many wonderful communities and to have serviced so many loyal guests."
