Two People Wanted for Beating, Robbing a 70-Year-Old Man

FORT SMITH, Ark.- - The Fort Smith Police Department is looking for two people accused of robbing a 70-year-old man.

Police said 29-year-old Dale Virgil Roberts and 30-year-old Nicole Taylor Standige helped a 70-year-old man carry his groceries into his home located on S. Greenwood Rd. Police said the elderly man knew Standige though his son, and that's why he let them help him.

After helping the man carry his groceries, Roberts and Standige reportedly hit the man in his head with a blunt object. The victim told police Roberts beat him and Standige tied his hands behind his back with an electrical cord. The victim said the two took cash, a debit card, a cell phone and other items. Police said the two left in a 2011 Kia Soul.

Roberts and Standige are wanted on charges of aggravated robbery, second degree battery and theft of property. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call police.

Police said Roberts and Standige were last seen driving a white 2010 Kia Soul with the Arkansas license plate 646-OPP.
