UofA Issues Response to Individual Photographed at Right-Wing Rally

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The University of Arkansas issued a response today after a photo appeared online depicting an individual wearing an Arkansas Engineering shirt at a white supremacist rally in Virginia.

The UofA manager of media relations, Steve Voorhies, dictated the following statement to KNWA:

"Fostering an atmosphere of diversity and inclusion is a top priority of the University of Arkansas. This image is not a reflection of our university's values."

University officials have not been able to determine whether the individual wearing the shirt is a student, Voorhies said.

The university will continue trying to identify the person photographed, Voorhies said.

University of Arkansas Chancellor Joe Steinmetz issued a tweet condemning hatred, violence and white supremacy.
