#WebExtra: Amazon and McDonald's Make Major Announcements

We take a look at changes coming to some of the world's largest companies.

One of  Walmart's biggest online rivals is making a move with brick and mortar stores. Amazon buying Whole Foods for nearly $14B dollars. The online giant says Whole Foods will continue to operate under that name as a separate unit of the company. Experts say the deal shows Amazon's interest in operating traditional stores. It also demonstrates the company's growing interest in groceries. Amazon already has a grocery delivery service called "Amazon Fresh."

McDonald's is pulling the plug on its Olympic sponsorship deal. The fast food chain had the deal through the 2020 games in Tokyo but it's pulling out three years early. There's no word on the reason why but the International Olympic Committee says the decision was mutual. However,  Mickey-D's will still sponsor next year's Winter Olympics in South Korea. The company has been an official Olympic sponsor since 1976.
