ROGERS, AR-- More students in Northwest Arkansas cut their hair for a cause on Wednesday.

Our own Laine Baker emceed the event in Rogers.45 kids and one teacher at Russell D. Jones Elementary School chopped off their locks and donated at least eight inches of hair as part of the nationwide Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign.

As a result, those donations will help provide free wigs for cancer patients.

"These children are amazing," says Melinda Johnson, Brand Manager for the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign. "They have been wanting to do this. They have been growing their hair out all year and wanting to give hair back to support family members and friends in the community who have gone through cancer."

The Pantene Beautiful Lengths event takes place this year on June 25th at the John Q. Hammons center in Rogers. You can sign up to donate on our website but there are a couple of requirements. You need at least eight inches of hair and it can't be color-treated.

The big event is just part of the this year's LPGA Week. The 2014 Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship, presented by Proctor & Gamble, tees off on June 23rd. And you can snag a spot on the course!

Tickets to the annual LPGA event are now on sale. You can catch some of the world's best female professional golfers as they play at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers. The tournament runs from the 23rd through the 29th. Tickets start at just $25.00. To check out the schedule of events and to buy tickets click here.
