In this interview, Razorback Nation's Drew Amman talks with one of the three captains for the Hogs this season:
Listed below is the transcription from our Q&A with the righthander who earned SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week Honors on April 25th, 2016:
How tough was the decision coming back? Choosing between the pros or one more year on the Hill?
It was a blessing to be drafted by the Blue Jays (16th Round in 2016) but I feel like it was the best decision coming back.
What's been going through your mind as you get set for your senior season?
One of the biggest reasons why I didn't sign is because I didn't like the way last season ended.
I didn't feel like I had the best recipe for success.
Let's go back to that Kentucky game in 2016.
You go 10 innings recording ten strikeouts.
I was thinking like even the week before, like, man I can't even get past seven. I was like, I wonder what it's like to go nine.
And then I go ten.
This staff...what do you like about it?
With Coach Wes Johnson, I mean, just from seeing
the statistics from the fall and the way all the pitchers have
been throwing, we should be right up there.
Tell me a little bit about Baum Stadium and what you love about it so much.
One thing that has really been nice is
the additions that they've made.
It was nice before but our big screen has been
unbelievable. Especially, you know, it's big for recruiting,
A kid comes in here and they're like man, I wanna play here.
Dave Van Horn and that calming presence that he brings to the ballpark every day. How has that helped you?
He can kind of carry us and get us through everything.
He makes us tougher, and that helps us
get through SEC Play.
