Morgan Stands Out at Dolphins Mini-Camp

Drew Morgan wasn't among the 253 players selected in April's NFL Draft but has quickly stood out to Dolphins head coach Adam Gase at the team's training camp.

"I think he's put himself in a good position to compete," said Gase. "And that's really all you can ask for when you have an undrafted rookie."

The Greenwood native is trying to prove himself among a wide receiver corps that includes Jarvis Landry who finished 10th in the entire NFL for receiving yards during the 2016 season. Morgan is appreciative of the way his now peers have accepted him.

"The first day is always the most nerve wracking day," said Morgan. "But to the end of OTAs and mini-camp, it's good to see that these guys have bringing me under their wing, they make it easy on ya, but at the same time they're gonna push ya to your limit."

While Morgan is typically compared to receivers like Wes Welker or Danny Amendola, Morgan feels he should only be compared to himself.

"I don't wanna be stereotyped like that," said Morgan. "We're all football players, I'm not the biggest, I'm not the fastest. But uh, I don't know, I think my game speaks for itself."

With mini-camp over, Morgan plans to come back to Arkansas before reporting back to South Florida in mid-July for training camp.
