Randi Davis Named Assistant Softball Coach

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Head coach Mike Larabee has announced the addition of Randi Davis as an assistant coach for the University of Arkansas softball team. In her new role, she will serve as the Razorbacks’ pitching coach. Davis brings 12 years of previous softball experience including coaching at the NCAA Division I and III levels and Gold level, private instruction and consulting with various universities.
“We are very excited about bringing Randi into the program as our pitching coach,” Larabee said. “Through her work with other top-level programs and players, she has proven to be one of the top pitching minds in the sport and will definitely help take our team to the next level. After speaking with some of our student-athletes, I know they are fired up about having Randi be part of this team. She brings a great work ethic and passion for softball.”
In previous coaching and instruction positions, Davis worked with the highest level of softball pitchers from programs in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), Big 12, Big East and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). She has also worked with top-level coaches from the SEC, Atlantic 10, Big Ten and Big 12 and an ESPN softball analyst for continuing education on pitching biomechanics.
Davis has provided biomechanical evaluation with a focus on increasing efficiency and velocity for pitchers that have played on the U.S. National Team and played professional softball in the United States and internationally. Her private instruction role also includes working with recruits who will be playing or are now playing for programs within the SEC, Big 12, Big Ten and Missouri Valley Conference.
Having earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Logan College, Davis has integrated the medical profession into her coaching experience to successfully design and implement training regiments for NCAA programs that have produced a Women’s College World Series title and multiple All-American and all-region pitchers. She has hosted symposiums to teach athletics trainers, coaches and physicians about injury patterns for softball pitchers.
Davis joins the Razorbacks’ coaching staff that includes Larabee and assistant coach Sue Carpenter, both entering their sixth seasons in Fayetteville.
